This cosy cabin in the eastern part of Lakeland  is ideal for couples and small families. The cabin has an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with a wood burning fireplace, sauna, shower room, one twin bedroom and one double bedroom. A sofa bed in lounge can sleep two people if required.

The cabin has an outdoor terrace from where lake views can be admired and there is a rowing boat with lifejackets, garden swing, chairs and a table on the private grounds.     

The countryside surrounds are ideal for swimming, rowing your own boat, walking, fishing and picking wild berries and mushrooms. Tennis and beach volleyball courts are located nearby and two golf courses are available within an hour's drive. 

In winter, cross-country skis can be borrowed from the cabin owners and a snowmobile can be hired for approx. €130-150 per day, including all equipment and protective thermal clothing.

Cabin amenities:
Wood burning sauna, shower, WC, washing machine, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV with digibox, electric heating, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, hoover, iron/ironing board, fridge/freezer and a car heating point. A high chair and a baby bed can be arranged by prior booking. 

Pets and smoking are not allowed. Bed linen and towels can be rented for £10 per person and final cleaning in the cabin can be arranged on your behalf for £50.

Location:
The cabin is located in a peaceful countryside setting in Tolosenmäki, 80km from Joensuu Airport and 15km from the small town of Kitee. The shallow lake shore just 15m away is ideal for swimming for all ages. The cabin faces southwest, so the gardens enjoy sunshine most of the day. The nearest neighbour is located 35m away.

The whole family will love a visit to Kitee Animal Park 13km away. The park has a wide variety of native Finnish wildlife, including brown bears, moose and lynxes (open daily 15.4-31.10). 

If shopping is more your cup of tea, then visit the Marimekko factory outlet for discounted fabrics, household goodies and stationary from this world famous Finnish brand.  

Punkaharju Ridge, famous for its extraordinary landscape comprising a fascinating myriad of islands and lakes, is located 70km away. Enjoy driving through the  breathtakingly beautiful scenery and stop to visit the unique Retretti Art Centre that houses art in different forms in galleries  located partly underground (open daily 1.6-27.8.06). 

Kesämaa Water and Adventure Park next door to Retretti has water slides, bouncy castles and fun boast for children of all ages (open daily 5.6-12.8.06).

Visit also the magnificent medieval Olavinlinna Castle, famous for hosting the annual International Opera Festival, in Savonlinna 80km away. Join a guided tour in English all year round apart from public holidays and the period from 15-25 December.

Joensuu 80km away has beautiful harbour, bustling market place and a variety of department stores, restaurants, cafes and bars.

Fly on Finnair from London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh or Dublin to Joensuu (80km from cabin) via Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport. 

Fly low-cost on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Dublin,  Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Madrid, Amsterdam, Berlin,  Hamburg, Barcelona,  Athens, Rome, Oslo, Nice or Paris to Kuopio (215km) or Helsinki (380km). Pick up a hire car at the airport. 

Fly low-cost on Ryanair from London Stansted, Dublin or Frankfurt to Tampere (420km). Pick up a hire car at the airport.
