This studio-style semi-detached cabin is located conveniently in the popular Vuokatti Ski Resort just a few minutes from the ski slopes. This nearly new cabin can accommodate up to 4 people and would be suitable for a couple or a small family. The cabin has an open plan kitchen and dining/sitting area, sauna, shower, log burning soapstone fireplace, double bed downstairs and a mezzanine with one double bed and one single bed The cabin is well equipped and has a modern Scandinavian decor.  

The cabin is located in a quiet residential area a short distance from Nuosjärvi Lake. The Vuokatti area is known particularly for its outdoor activities, that include cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, husky and reindeer rides, ice-fishing and snowshoe walking in winter and canoeing, sailing, hiking, fishing and horse-riding in summer.

Cabin amenities:
Electric sauna, shower, WC, washing machine, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV, video recorder, DVD player, radio/CD player, electric under floor heating, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, terrace, central hoover system, toaster, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, fridge/freezer, drying cupboard for wet ski suits, car heating point, lockable outdoor storage, children's sledge for tobogganing, cot, highchair, potty and a child safety gate in stairs. 

The rental price includes the use of a rowing boat, shared lakeside pier and a small beach about 250m away. An outdoor barbecue behind the cabin is shared with another two cabins next door. 

Pets are allowed for an extra charge, but smoking is not. Bed linen and towels can be rented for £10 per person. Final cleaning in the cabin can be arranged on your behalf for £29. Toilet and kitchen roll, soap, washing-up liquid and other cleaning products are included in the rental price. 

Location:
The cabin is located in Vuokatti Ski Resort, 40km from Kajaani Airport. All local amenities including supermarkets, restaurants, petrol stations and guided safaris are located within a short driving distance away. 

Vuokatti Ski Resort has a year-round weekly programme of activities, that range from guided  outdoor safaris to sightseeing tours around the area. Join a snowmobile or husky safari or try snowboarding, downhill or cross-country skiing, ice-fishing or snowshoe trekking. All ski equipment can be rented from the resort's own rental shop and a ski school operates on the slopes for the beginners. Children have their own playing area and safe ski slopes. A cafe serves snacks and hot drinks.  

In December, do not miss the wonderful Christmas Village near Kuhmo about 70km away. The magical tour led by one of Santa's Elves will take you to the Santa's cave of treasures, through the land of elves and finally to meet Santa Claus himself in his log cabin. 

Outside the ski season, the resort has good facilities for trekking, horse-riding, cycling, fishing, tennis and golf. Canoeing expeditions and safaris are organised during the summer months along the many rivers and wild river rapids that run through areas of beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife. If you fancy learning to sail, join the Sailing School, that operates during the summer months and organises courses for beginners as well as the more experienced sailors. 

Hiidenportti National Park nearby was created in 1982 to protect the unique wilderness in the area. Today the park offers an oasis of calm with beautiful scenery, particularly around the famous Hiidenportti Gorge where spectacular rock faces travel straight down for up to 20m. The park consists of thick pine woods, swamps and small lakes that provide suitable habitat for wildlife such as bears, lynxes, moose, beavers, wolves, wolverines, pine martens and numerous birds. 

Kajaani town 35km away provides an ideal day trip destination with its department stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, museums and the ruins of Kajaani Castle, that was originally built in the early 1600's by the order of the King of Sweden Carl IX. The Castle today is the most northernmost castle in Finland, if not in the whole world.

Fly low-cost on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Rome, Dublin, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, Hamburg, Barcelona, Madrid, Athens, Oslo, Nice or Paris to Kuopio (180km) or Oulu (200km) via Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport.
