- Lakeview Lodge The upstairs has a second smaller sitting area and beds for four (two single beds and two mattresses together as a double). The ceiling upstairs is fairly low, so this area is ideal particularly for children and teenagers. The decor in the cabin is typically Finnish and the furniture is mainly of light-coloured wood. There is a furnished terrace outdoors for socialising and meals out, while the peaceful cabin grounds include a handy barbecue shelter, garden swing and a sand pit for children. The beautiful lake shore has a wooden pier, rowing boat and a lakeside sauna that includes a simple sitting area with a wood burning fireplace. The cabin is located by Hankavesi Lake in a tranquil and secluded position, where you can swim, enjoy walks and cycle in summer and cross-country ski in winter. Bicycles, canoes (2), cross-country skis and a motor boat can be hired from the owners by prior arrangement. Snowboarding, downhill skiing and snowmobile safaris are available in nearby Häkärinteet Ski Resort. Cabin
amenities: Pets and smoking are not allowed. Bed linen and towels can be hired for €10 per person. Final clean in the cabin can be arranged on your behalf for €60. Location: Häkärinteet Ski Resort 17km from the cabin has 12 ski slopes for downhill skiing, 3.8km of cross-country skiing tracks, a hiking trail to the top of the ski slopes and tobogganing hills for children. There is also a ski hire shop, ski school, cafe and a popular sun terrace for drinks after ski. Revontuli Golf Course 18km from the cabin has an 18-hole course and a good quality restaurant where live Finnish music is played at weekends. Jyväskylä 60km away provides an ideal day trip destination. The town has a wide variety of shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as a pretty harbour from where you can take a cruise on Lake Päijänne, the longest and the deepest lake in Finland. Look out for buildings designed by Alvar Aalto, the famous Finnish architect and a former resident in the town. How
