Woodside Lodge is located in a serene lakeside position in the heart of Lakeland. The cabin is spacious and has a kitchen and dining room, lounge with a wood burning fireplace, sauna and shower room, one double bedroom downstairs and one twin bedroom upstairs. Two single beds on the upstairs landing and two sofa beds (one in twin bedroom, one in lounge) offer extra beds if required.  

A large balcony upstairs and a terrace downstairs offer beautiful lake views and there are swings and a  sandbox for children, wooden pier and a barbecue hut on the private grounds. A rowing boat is also available.

The tranquil countryside setting is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surrounds on leisurely walks. A canoe, motor boat and fishing equipment can be hired from the cabin owner, while horse-riding is available nearby. In winter, cross-country skiing tracks start directly from the cabin.    

Cabin amenities:
Wood burning sauna, WC, shower, washing machine, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV, radio, CD player, electric heating, dishwasher, coffee maker, hoover,  toaster, iron/ironing board, fridge/freezer, car heating point, baby bed and a child safety gate in stairs.  

Pets and smoking are not allowed. Bed linen and towels can be hired for €10 per person, while the final clean in the cabin is included in the rental price.

Location:
The cabin is located 60km from Mikkeli Airport and 18km from the small Haukivuori village. All local amenities, including a food shop, petrol station, restaurant and a bank, are available in Haukivuori, but the amenities of the larger Pieksämäki town are also just 38km away. 

The cabin is located just 15m from the shallow lake shore, that is ideal for swimming for all ages. The nearest neighbour is located 100m away, while the cabin owner lives 150m away, should you need any assistance. 

If you are interested in nature and walking, visit the nearby Haukkavuori Hill, the highest point in the  South-Karelia province. Climb up to the top of the hill and you will be rewarded with fantastic views over the treetops and the large Sarajärvi Lake. The cabin owner has his own wilderness camp fire/cooking area in the park, which you are welcome to use for a rest and a picnic lunch free of charge. 

The nearest ski resort is Häkärinteet, 60km away.  The resort has 10 ski slopes of four different skill levels for downhill skiing, 3.6km of cross-country skiing tracks, a hiking trail to the top of the ski slopes and toboggan hills for children. All ski equipment can be rented from the resort's own rental shop, while a ski school also operates in the resort. Enjoy a lunch in the resort cafe or few drinks on the popular sun terrace. The resort is suitable for beginners and families.

Fly on Finnair from London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh or Dublin to Jyväskylä (135km from cabin) via Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport.

Fly low-cost on Ryanair from London Stansted, Liverpool, Dublin or Frankfurt to Tampere (260km). Pick up a hire car at the airport.

Fly low-cost on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Dublin,  Rome, Copenhagen, Athens, Amsterdam, Gothenburg, Berlin, Hamburg, Barcelona, Madrid, Oslo, Nice or Paris to Helsinki (270km). Pick up a hire car at the airport.
