This spacious log cabin on a secluded headland surrounded by Iso-Säynätjärvi Lake has a kitchen, dining area, lounge, upstairs living area, large balcony that offers beautiful lake views, sauna, shower, wood burning fireplace, large terrace, two twin/double bedrooms downstairs and one twin bedroom upstairs. A sofa bed for two is available upstairs. The cabin grounds include a barbeque shelter, private pier and a rowing boat. 

The cabin surrounds are ideal for outdoor activities and canoes can be hired from a local supplier (please pre-book!). Horse-riding is also available in the stables just 4km away by prior booking. In summer (1.6-15.9), a small kiosk and a children's play area are in your use 300m away. In late summer and autumn, the woods surrounding the cabin grow wild berries and mushrooms, that you can pick and take to your own cabin, while in winter, cross-country skiing tracks run 5km away.

Cabin amenities:
Wood burning sauna, shower room with under floor heating, 2 WCs, washing machine, soapstone fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV with digibox, DVD player, radio, private pier, electric heating, dishwasher, coffee maker, rowing boat, large terrace, balcony, hoover, toaster, iron/ironing board, fridge/freezer, car heating point and a barbecue shelter. Travel cot is available by prior arrangement. 

Pets are allowed, but smoking is not. Bed linen and towels can be hired for €10 per person. Final clean in the cabin can be arranged on your behalf for €85. 

Location:
The cabin is located 90km from Jyväskylä Airport and 7km from Joutsa village, where you will find all local amenities such as a bank, restaurant, two well-stocked supermarkets and a petrol station. The cabin is located just 20m from the shallow lake shore, that is suitable for swimming for all ages. The nearest neighbour is another cabin about 80m away.  

If you are interested in fishing, Viherkoski River Rapids about 10km from the cabin offer good salmon fishing. Remember however, that if you will be fishing with anything else than just a fishing rod and line, you will need to buy a local fishing permit from the nearby Joutsa. 

If you like walking and nature, make sure you visit the  Leivonmäki National Park (30km), where you will find clearly marked nature trails suitable for beginners and families. The park has a varied terrain, that consists of two woody and rocky areas separated by the barren Rutajärvi Lake. Climb to the top of the 1.5km long Joutsniemi Ridge to admire the view or go fishing, mountain biking, swimming or picking wild  berries and mushrooms to take back to your cabin.   

Jyväskylä 70km away provides an ideal day trip destination. The town has a wide variety shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as a pretty harbour, from where you can take a cruise on Lake Päijänne, the longest and the deepest lake in Finland. If you are interested in architecture, look out for the work designed by Alvar Aalto, the famous Finnish architect and a former resident in the town.   

The nearest ski resort is Vehmasrinteet, about 30km away. The resort offers 3 gentle ski slopes for downhill skiing, a street for snowboarding, cross-country skiing tracks and a tobogganing hill for children. The resort has a cafe, ski equipment rental shop and a ski school, that operates by prior booking. The resort is ideal particularly for beginners and families.

Fly on Finnair from London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh or Dublin to Jyväskylä (90km from cabin) or Helsinki (200km). Pick up a hire car at the airport.

Fly low-cost on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Dublin, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Oslo, Rome, Amsterdam, Berlin, Hamburg, Barcelona, Nice, Madrid, Athens or Paris to Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport.

Fly low-cost on Ryanair from London Stansted, Liverpool, Dublin or Frankfurt to Tampere (170km). Pick up a hire car at the airport.
