        Lak090 - Lakeland Log House
This pretty family-size lakeside log cabin has an open plan kitchen and dining area, lounge, shower, WC, wood burning fireplace, terrace with lake views and two twin/double bedrooms downstairs and a third twin/double bedroom, sitting area and a work area with a desk and a chair upstairs. Additional two beds are available on a sofa bed upstairs. The large, private grounds outdoors include a log barbecue hut, rowing boat and a lakeside sauna.

The cabin is located by Hankavesi Lake in a peaceful countryside setting. The cabin grounds and the lake shore are secluded and allow you plenty of privacy. In summer, the area is perfect for swimming, rowing and cycling, while horse-riding is available in the stables just 300m away. Bicycles, canoes (2) and a motor boat can be hired from the owners. 

In winter, cross-country skiing tracks (15km) pass the cabin just 100m away and skis can be hired from the owners (please pre-book!). Snowboarding, downhill skiing and snowmobile safaris are available in nearby Häkärinteet Ski Resort.  

Cabin amenities:
Shower, WC, washing machine, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, wood burning second oven, wide screen digital TV, DVD player, radio/CD player, private pier, garden swing, electric heating, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, rowing boat, terrace, hoover, toaster, fridge/freezer, car heating point and an outdoor log barbecue hut. A baby bed will be available by prior arrangement. 

The cabin has a separate, very spacious (30 sq.m), wood burning lakeside sauna that includes a shower department and a sitting area with a wood burning fireplace. 

Pets and smoking are not allowed. Bed linen and towels can be hired for €10 per person. Final clean in the cabin can be arranged on your behalf for €70.

Location:
The cabin is located in Säkinmäki, 75km from Jyväskylä Airport. Local amenities including a food shop, petrol station, restaurant and a bank are located in nearby Hankasalmi 14km away. The cabin is located only 30m from a shallow lake shore, while the nearest neighbour is located 100m away.   

Jyväskylä 60km away provides an ideal day trip destination. The town has a wide variety of shops, restaurants and cafes as well as a pretty harbour from where you can take a cruise on Lake Päijänne in summer. If you are interested in architecture, look out for the work designed by Alvar Aalto, the famous Finnish architect and a former resident in the town.       

The nearest ski resort is Häkärinteet 19km away. The resort has 10 ski slopes for downhill skiing, 3.6km of cross-country skiing tracks, a nature trail to the top of the ski slopes and tobogganing hills for children. All ski equipment can be hired from the resort shop and a ski school operates for beginners. The ski resort also has a cafe and a sun terrace for enjoying a few drinks after skiing.      

In summer, Revontuli (Northern Lights) Golf Club 20km away has an 18-hole golf course and a restaurant where live Finnish music is played at weekends.

Fly on Finnair from London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh or Dublin to Jyväskylä (70km from cabin) via Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport. 

Fly low-cost on Ryanair from London Stansted, Dublin or Frankfurt to Tampere (200km). Pick up a hire car at the airport.

Fly low-cost on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Dublin,  Rome, Copenhagen, Athens, Amsterdam, Gothenburg, Berlin, Hamburg, Barcelona, Madrid, Oslo, Nice or Paris to Helsinki (330km). Pick up a hire car at the airport.
