A brand new cabin in a secluded location by the exceptionally clear Puruvesi Lake. The cabin has high standard amenities and a typically Scandinavian exterior. The cabin comprises a kitchen and dining area, lounge with a wood burning fireplace, one double bedroom downstairs, one triple bedroom upstairs, sauna and a shower. Two extra beds are available, if required. 

A lovely terrace and a balcony upstairs offer beautiful lake views, while a wooden pier, rowing boat and an outdoor barbecue area are provided by the private lake shore. A motor boat can be hired from the owners for an additional charge. 

The cabin is located in the heart of the beautiful Lakeland Archipelago near the world famous Punkaharju Ridge. Lake cruises and fishing are popular in the area and fishing rods are included in the rental price. 

Canoeing trips are organised in the area in summer, while snowmobile and ice-fishing safaris, winter rally and snowshoe hiking are popular in winter. Cross-country skiing tracks will be available in the area. Wild berries and mushrooms can be picked in the woods surrounding the cabin in late summer and autumn.

Wood burning sauna, shower, 2 WCs, washing machine, drying cupboard for wet clothes, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV, video recorder, radio, CD player, electric heating, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, hoover, toaster, iron/ironing board, fridge/freezer, car heating point, child safety gate in stairs, baby bed, high chair and a potty.   

Pets and smoking are not allowed. Bed linen and towels can be hired for €15 per person. Final clean in the cabin can be arranged on your behalf for €100.    

Location:
The cabin is located in Hiukkajoki, 60km from Savonlinna Airport and 20km from the small town of Kesälahti, where good local amenities are available. The nearest neighbour is located 80m away, while the shallow, secluded lake shore is just 20m from the cabin.

Savonlinna with its cultural interests is located 60km away. The town's lakeside position and harbour are particularly beautiful in summer when the town is bustling with visitors from all around the world. Visit the handsome medieval Olavinlinna Castle, where guided tours are given daily in different languages, including English. The castle is positioned on a small island and you walk in along a long pier, that is periodically opened for passing cruise ships. The castle is open all year apart from public holidays and 15-25 December. 

Punkaharju Ridge, famous for its extraordinary landscape comprising a myriad of islands and lakes, is located just 30km away. Drive through the narrow roads surrounded by water for a truly beautiful lakeland scenery and visit the unique Retretti Art Centre (open daily approx. 2.6-28.8), that houses art in different forms in galleries  located partly underground. 

Children will love the Kesämaa (Summerland) Water and Adventure Park next door to Retretti (open daily approx. 6.6-13.8). Water slides, bouncy castles, climbing tracks and boats offer fun for the whole day. Another family attraction well worth a visit is the lovely Kitee Animal Park 40km away. The park is inhabited by mainly native Finnish wildlife including brown bears, lynxes, wolverines and reindeers (open daily approx. 15.4-31.10).

Kolovesi National Park about 60km away is a 23km² wilderness area of lakes, woods and rock walls that can reach as high as 40m above the ground level. The park was originally formed during the ice age and you can still spot signs of life from the stone ages. The park today is inhabited by a community of endangered Saimaa seals, while visitors are invited to enjoy a walk along one of the many pretty nature trails or take to the waters on a canoe.

The nearest ski resort is Ruunarinteet 70km away.  This small resort has 2km of cross-country skiing tracks and 6 ski slopes for downhill skiing. The ski slopes are fairly small and particularly suitable for beginners and families. All ski equipment can be hired from a rental shop and a small cafe serves snacks and hot drinks.
