This comfortable ground floor alpine-style apartment is located by the Southern ski slopes in Levi Ski Resort, 170km above the Arctic Circle. The apartment is ideal for a couple and has an open plan kitchen/dining area and lounge, sauna, shower, wood burning fireplace and one twin bedroom. Additional two people can be accommodated on a sofa bed. The apartment has its own entrance and a terrace.

This apartment is located in a peaceful position about 300m from the Southern ski slopes, cross-country skiing tracks and a ski hire shop. The centre of Levi village with its shops, restaurants and bars can be reached easily by a hire car, taxi or during the ski season by the free Ski Bus that can be caught about 700m away.  

Levi is the largest ski resort in Finland and comes highly recommended for keen skiers, couples looking for an active holiday near nightlife and places to eat out, as well as families, who wish to stay near activities for children. Kids' Land offers daily fun and free organised activities for children of all ages, while babysitting is also available for an hourly rate.   

Apartment amenities:
Electric sauna, shower, WC, washing machine, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, 28" widescreen TV with cable channels, DVD player and English language DVDs, radio, CD Hi-Fi, central heating, dishwasher, coffee maker, hoover, toaster, iron/ironing board, fridge/freezer, car heating point, kettle, hairdryer, electric whisk, blender, alarm clock radio and a lockable outdoor storage. A baby bed can be arranged by prior booking.

Pets and smoking are not allowed. Bed linen, towels and final cleaning are included in the rental price from September-April. From May-August, the full package can be ordered for £57.  

Location:
The apartment is located in Levi Ski Resort, 8km from Kittilä Airport. The nearest ski slopes are located just 300m away, while the centre of Levi village about 6km away can be reached easily on a hire car, taxi or the free Ski Bus that operates during the ski season from 10am-7pm. 

Levi village caters well for visitors and has 45 varied ski slopes, 5 slopes/parks for snowboarders, 26 ski lifts, a cable car, 230km of cross-country skiing tracks, 4 ski hire shops, a ski school, 25 restaurants and cafes, 3 supermarkets, an off-licence, chemist, post office, petrol station, First Aid and doctor's surgery, sports and souvenir shops, a chapel, spa complex, 3 gyms and a swimming pool. 

Our safari partner in Levi has a very good programme of safaris, that include snowmobiling, reindeer and husky rides, ice-fishing, kick sledging and Northern Lights adventures. In December, a Santa Claus Safari is also available. Warm winter clothing can be hired locally, although most safaris include full thermal clothing in the price.      

Levi Golf and Country Club has a 9-hole course, where you can play golf under the Midnight Sun from June-July. Further 9 holes will open by summer 2007. Fishing, mountain biking and canoeing are other popular activities in Levi in the summertime.     

Levi Reindeer Park consists of 170ha where reindeer wander freely during the summer months and where you can go trekking or Nordic walking. Guided expeditions introduce you to the reindeer and reindeer husbandry in the area, while a ski lift takes you to the top of the fell to admire the far reaching views of Lapland's wild nature.

The nearby 1020km² Pallas-Ylläs Fells National Park is the third largest national park in Finland. The park consists of fells, woods and swamps and is said to have the cleanest air in Europe. The network of sign posted hiking trails cover 320km that offer lovely views of the majestic fells in the horizon (the highest fell in the park towers at 807m). Reindeer, bears and moose are common, while wolves, wolverines and lynxes are occasional visitors.

How do I get there?
Fly on Finnair from London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh or Dublin to Kittilä (8km from apartment) via Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport or take a taxi to the apartment.

Charter flights are available to Kittilä from London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol on Sundays and London Heathrow on Saturdays during the winter season from Ski-Flights. Tel: 0870 830 8136. Pick up a hire car at the airport or take a taxi to the cabin.

Fly low-cost on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Dublin, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome, Hamburg, Barcelona, Madrid, Athens, Oslo, Nice or Paris to Rovaniemi (160km) via Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport.
