This lakeside cabin has basic amenities and can sleep up to 6 people. The cabin has been well decorated, but there is no running water, inside toilet or electric central heating. The cabin has a kitchen, dining and sitting area, separate lakeside sauna, private pier, wood burning fireplace and a mezzanine sleeping area for six. 

The cabin is located in an extremely peaceful area, that allows you to truly get away from it all and the nearest neighbour is located 3km away. The peaceful wooded area surrounding the cabin offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities such as fishing (equipment provided), picking wild berries and mushrooms, rowing and swimming. 

Canoes can be hired for an additional charge by prior arrangement (please pre-book!).

Cabin amenities:
Outdoor WC, fireplace and logs, gas operated hobs and fridge, wood burning stove, private pier, rowing boat and lifejackets, terrace and a wood burning traditional lakeside sauna. A motor boat and a car can be hired from the cabin owner by prior arrangement for an additional charge. 

The cabin is heated and lit by sun panels (backed up by a battery), that generate power well between March and October.  

Water can be fetched from a well or the lake and it can be heated on the gas hobs or the fireplace inside the cabin or alternatively in the lakeside sauna.  

Pets are allowed, but smoking is not. Bed linen and towels can be hired for £10 per person. Final clean in the cabin can be arranged on your behalf for £36.    

Location:
This cabin is located just below the Arctic Circle, about 30km from Posio village where basic local amenities can be found. The nearest airport is Kuusamo 95km away and car transfers can be pre-arranged for an additional charge, although we strongly recommend hiring a car due to the remote cabin location. The shallow lake shore is just 25m from the cabin.

For a day trip, visit the 77km² Riisitunturi National Park (38km away) known for its fantastic fell scenery and completely snow covered trees in winter. The park offers excellent opportunities for hiking as well as picking wild berries and mushrooms. Numerous birds, reindeer and bears inhabit the park and traces of them can be spotted easily.   

Another unique natural attraction in the area is Korouoma Kanyon (32km away), that was formed hundreds of millions of years ago when the earth split in this particular spot. The kanyon is well known particularly for its pretty frozen waterfalls in winter, when cross-country skiing and snowshoe trekking are popular ways of getting around the area. Nature expeditions and rock climbing are organised year round.

Fly low-cost on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Dublin, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome, Hamburg, Barcelona, Madrid, Athens, Oslo, Nice or Paris to Rovaniemi (150km) via Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport or use car transfers provided by cabin owners for an extra charge.
