"Just wanted to say 'Kiitos!'. We very much enjoyed your service, directions you gave us and our stay in Gooseberry. The owners of the cabin appeared also to be a very nice family. Thank you again from all my heart for making our stay in Finland unforgettable!"

"It was a lovely stay in Gooseberry. Although it was a bit remote and the snow prevented us from walking too far in the woods without snowshoes. We had a wonderful week of pure quietness. This must be the Finnish dream. Sauna every day and ice covered lake in front. Thank you very much for this opportunity. Also the cabin owners are very friendly."

T. Flender, Germany

                 Lap020 - Gooseberry
This cabin in the far north of Lapland is surrounded by beautiful wild fells and the largest untouched area of w
ilderness in the region.

The cabin is ideal for a couple, but can accommodate up to 4 people comfortably. The cabin has an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge, sauna and shower area, terrace, wood burning fireplace, one double bedroom and a mezzanine that has two additional beds on mattresses. The cabin has good amenities and the decor is cosy and homely.

The tranquil surrounds and large areas of fresh woods and fells surrounding the cabin provide visitors with excellent opportunities for fishing, canoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.

The 471m high Pulju Fell also offers a number of very good trails for hiking and mountain biking. The top of the Pulju Fell can be reached by foot via a 5km trail for lovely views over the surrounding area.

Cabin amenities:
Electric sauna, changing and shower rooms, WC, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV, radio/CD player, electric heating, coffee maker, dishwasher, rowing boat, hoover, fridge/freezer, car heating point, child safety gate in stairs and an outdoor barbeque area.

Pets are allowed, but smoking is not. Bed linen and towels can be hired for €10 per person. Final clean in the cabin can be arranged to be done on your behalf for €50.

Location:
The cabin is located far above the Arctic Circle in the small village of Pulju, 68km from Kittilä Airport. The popular Levi village and ski resort 50km away has good local amenities and excellent ski slopes for downhill skiing and snowboarding. The cabin is located by a lake just 30m from the shore and 30m from the nearest neighbour.

Levi resort offers a wide range of activities and safaris such as snowmobiling, reindeer and husky rides, horse-riding on Icelandic horses, hot-air ballooning, parasailing and kick sledging and therefore provides an ideal day trip destination. In December, a Santa Claus Safari for example is not to be missed!

Pulju Wilderness Area covers 614km² and consists of fells, tree-covered hills and swamps that fill with cloudberries, lingonberries, blueberries and mushrooms in late summer and autumn.

Reindeer herding is one of the main livelihoods in the Area and you may well see reindeers during your visit. Wolverines, bears, lynxes, wolves, owls, hawks, eagles, capercaillies, stoats, minks, weasels and otters also inhabit the Area.

The nearby 1020km² Pallas-Ylläs Fells National Park is the third largest national park in Finland. The park is a varied mixture of fells, woods and swamps and is said to have the cleanest air in Europe.

The network of signposted walking and hiking trails covers a total of 320km, majority of which allows you to admire the majestic fells in the horizon (the highest fell in the park towers at 807m). Reindeer, bears and moose are common in the park, while wolves, wolverines and lynxes are occasional visitors.
