Reindeer Villas The cabins are located in peaceful and naturally beautiful surrounds in a group of 13 comfortable holiday cabins bordered by a lake and a river. All local amenities are within a short walking distance in charming and genuine Hetta village. Cross-country skiing is popular in the area and skis and snowshoes can be hired locally. Kick sledges and toboggans are available free of charge. In summer, relax on a lovely sandy beach, go rowing, explore the area on free bicycles or enjoy walks in Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park on the southern side of Hetta village. Fishing trips and canoeing expeditions are also available and fishing permits can be bought from the cabin owners. Cabin
amenities: There is a free WLAN internet connection in the cabin, if you wish to bring your own laptop with you. Pets are allowed for an extra charge, but smoking is not. Bed linen and towels can be hired for €10 per person. Final clean in the cabin is included in the rental price. Location: In winter, visit the village Snow Castle where you can wander in different rooms made of snow and admire beautiful sculptures made of ice. The Castle also has a cafe where you can enjoy hot drinks and snacks during your visit. For the cleanest air in Europe, visit the 1020km² Pallas-Ylläs Fells National Park, where you will enjoy fantastic views of 800m high fells continuing for 50km. The park consists of dense woods and swamps and hiking trails and cross-country skiing tracks are available. Reindeers, moose and many different types of birds can be spotted in the park, although you are unlikely to meet any resident bears. In summer, a boat taxi operates between the cabin village and the park. Visit Lapland Fells Nature Centre in Hetta and find out about Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park and other nature areas around the village. For more spectacular scenery, head towards Kilpisjärvi, a village with just 100 inhabitants, 180km northeast from Hetta. This is where the highest fells of Finland rise to well over 1000m. Drive along the highest road in Finland, 569m above the sea level, and see the Pihtsus Waterfall, the highest of its kind in Lapland. Find the spot where Finland, Sweden and Norway meet and visit Kautokeino, a small village where the aboriginal Sami culture is still strongly present, in Norway across the northern border. Hetta Ski Resort has 5 small ski slopes for adults and 1 small ski slope for children. Both are ideal for beginners. The resort also has 2 ski lifts, a street for snowboarding, tobogganing hills, 100km of cross-country ski tracks, a good network of snowshoe trails, ski hire shop, ski school and a cafe. How
do I get there? Fly on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Dublin, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome, Hamburg, Barcelona, Madrid, Athens, Oslo, Nice or Paris to Kittilä via Helsinki.
