Pine Lodge The cabin has an open plan kitchen and dining/sitting area where you will find a wood burning fireplace, WC, sauna, shower room, two bedrooms (one with twin beds and another with a sofa bed for two). Two additional beds are on a second sofa bed in the sitting area. A garden swing, outdoor terrace facing the lake and a small portable barbecue are also available, while there is a larger, shared barbecue hut by the lake about 50m away. Cabin surrounds are peaceful and there are many nature paths and tracks nearby for walking and cycling in summer and cross-country skiing in winter. Salmon can be fished from the small lake in summer and fishing permits are available locally. There is also a shared beach for swimming about 50m away.
Cabin
amenities: Pets are allowed, but smoking is not. Bed linen and towels can be hired for 12 per person. Final clean on your behalf is included in the rental price. Location: Local amenities such as a supermarket, restaurant and a petrol station are located in Syote village about 2km from the cabin. The nearest neighbour is located about 100m away, while the lake shore is just 50m away. The nearest airport to the cabin is in Kuusamo about 90km away. A hire car is recommended for your airport transfers, although taxi transfers are also available. One way taxi ride between Kuusamo Airport and the cabin costs 135 euros for 2 people, 155 euros for a party of 3-4 people, 175 euros for a party of 5-6 people and 190 euros for a party of 7-9 people (prices subject to change). If you decide to use taxi transfers, a car can be hired locally in Kelosyote from about Ģ50 a day (please pre-book!). Syote Ski Resort includes two ski centres that are both located within an easy reach of the cabin. The smaller Pikku-Syote is located just 2km away, while the larger Iso-Syote is located about 6km from the cabin. Pikku-Syote fell is 370m high and has 8 ski slopes, a snowboarding area, four ski lifts and one additional lift particularly for children, a ski school, ski hire, restaurant and a children's playroom. Iso-Syote fell is 432m high and has 11 ski slopes, two Snow Parks for snowboarding, 7 ski lifts, a ski school, ski hire, 3 restaurants and 2 bars. Iso-Syote also has a dedicated Snow Land for children where you will find small ski slopes particularly for young children, tobogganing hills and a kindergarten. Snowmobiling safaris, visits to local reindeer and husky farms, ice-fishing trips, snowshoe walking and Northern Lights adventures can be arranged locally in the resort. Syote Visitor Centre is well worth a visit if you are interested in finding out about the fells, nature and culture in the area. The centre also acts as the gateway to the fascinating 299 sq. km Syote National Park, where rugged hills, unusual bogs and old spruce forests attract visitors for hiking in summer and cross-country skiing in winter. Ranua Wildlife Park 70km away offers an ideal day trip destination year round for spotting over 50 Northern and Arctic animals such as bears, lynxes, otters, beavers, moose, wolves, wolverines and polar bears. A Fazer sweet shop, horse riding, mini car track and a restaurant are also available.
