                  Lap230 - Pyha Star
This beautiful log cabin is ideal for couples and families. The cabin is located in a quiet wooded area, yet the local amenities such as shops and restaurants, as well as ski slopes in Pyha village are just a short walk away. Cross-country ski tracks and tobogganing hills are also easily accessible just 250m away.

The cabin has a very pretty open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area downstairs, where you will also find a double bedroom, sauna and a shower room. There is a second twin bedroom and an additional mezzanine sleeping area for further two people upstairs.

Pyhä resort is a modestly developed ski resort and the village remains genuine and welcoming. Snowmobiling, reindeer and husky rides, ice-fishing, tobogganing and snowshoe trekking are available in winter, while canoeing, fishing and hiking are popular activities in summer.

Pyhä caters well for families and good child care facilities are available. Tenavapirtti Day Care Centre is open daily and snowmobiling and reindeer rides are organised especially for children and families during winter. Babysitting is also available.

Cabin amenities:
Electric sauna, shower room, WC, washing machine and drying cabinet, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV, DVD player, radio/CD player, electric heating, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, iron, fridge/freezer, toaster, vacuum cleaner, child stair gate, barbecue and a car heating point outdoors.

A travel cot and a high chair for a baby can be hired by prior arrangement.

Pets and smoking are not allowed. Hire of bed linen and towels and final clean on your behalf at the end of the rental period are complimentary.

Location:
The cabin is located by Pyhä Fell, conveniently positioned just 500m from the ski slopes in Pyhä village. A supermarket and restaurants are located about 800m away and can be visited easily by foot or on a bus. The nearest bus stop is located just 200m from the cabin.

Rovaniemi Airport is located 130km away and transfers are provided by Airport Bus that operates between Rovaniemi and Pyhä for a small charge from/to most Finnair flights, if you prefer not to hire a car.

Pyhä Ski Resort consists of 12 ski slopes that vary from family slopes ideal for children and beginners to more  demanding slopes that are appreciated by experienced skiers. The most demanding slopes in the resort are said to be the best in Finland and in fact the Freestyle Skiing World Championships were recently held in Pyhä. A ski school in the resort offers lessons for beginners and a ski hire shop is also available.

The fells in Pyhä Fell National Park were originally formed about 2 billion years ago when they were as high as the Alps, but today they form a 7km long chain with the highest point at 540m above the sea level. The steep arid ridges and deep slopes make this landscape extremely varied and interesting particularly for hiking in summer and cross-country skiing in winter.

If you prefer to find out about Pyhä Fell National Park from the comfort of indoors, visit the exhibitions at Pyhä Fell Nature Centre next to the ski slopes instead.

Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi is located about 1.5 hours drive away and can be visited on a day trip or on your way from/to Rovaniemi Airport. The village is open all year round and consists of Santa's Office where you can meet the man himself, Santa's Post Office from where you can send a postcard stamped with the official Santa's postmark and a small number of gift and souvenir shops.

How do I get there?
