This traditional lakeside cabin is well equipped and decorated in a true Scandinavian style with lots of wood. The cabin has an open plan kitchen/dining area and lounge with a wood burning fireplace, sauna and shower room, one double bedroom and a second bedroom that has one single bed and a sofa bed for two people. Two sofa beds in lounge offer additional beds for up to four people.

There is a terrace, private pier and a wood burning lakeside sauna outdoors. The lakeside sauna can be used during the summer from June to August and includes a separate living area where you will find a fireplace, small kitchen/lounge and a sofa bed for two.     

The cabin surrounds are very peaceful and wildlife such as foxes, hares and pine martens can be spotted in the woods. Kulovesi Lake in front of the cabin has plenty of fish and fishing nets and rods can be borrowed from the cabin owners. Wild berries and mushrooms can be picked in the woods in late summer and autumn. 

In winter, Ellivuori Ski Resort is located just 6km away for downhill skiing, while cross-country skiing tracks start directly from the lake shore and run along the frozen lake and fields. 

Cabin amenities:
Electric sauna, shower, WC, washing machine, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV, radio, private pier, electric heating, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, rowing boat and lifejackets, terrace, hoover, cot, fridge/freezer and a car heating point. 

A maximum of 2 small pets are allowed, but smoking is not. Bed linen and towels can be rented for £10 per person. Final cleaning in the cabin can be arranged on your behalf for £62.

Location:
The cabin is located in Karkku, 40km from Tampere Airport and 25km from the small town of Vammala. Local amenities including a food shop, restaurant and a bank are located just a short drive away. The cabin is located 30m from the shallow lake shore, that is ideal for swimming for all ages. The lake shore is accessed via a number of steps, so this cabin may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. 

The nearest neighbour is located 40m away, while the owner's farm is also located nearby. Assistance is available from the owners should you need it and children are welcome to visit the farm animals in their pens.  

In summer, golfers are spoilt for choice with three beautiful golf courses nearby. The 18-hole Lakeside Golf is said to be one of the most beautiful in Finland due to it's setting amongst green woods and blue water.  

Tampere 50km away is the third largest town in Finland and boasts a number of good restaurants, bars, department stores and attractions for the whole family. Särkänniemi Adventure Park, for example, has a wide variety of thrilling rides, a dolphinarium, aquarium, planetarium, children's zoo, the highest observation tower in the Nordic countries and even an art museum for the grown-ups. The rides and the zoo are open daily May to mid-August, while the other attractions stay open all year round.  

Visit also the curious Moominvalley Museum in the centre of Tampere for Moomin illustrations, figurines and a computer enabled virtual tour of the famous Moomin House (open daily tue-sun, mon in summer only).

Puurijärvi and Isosuo National Park nearby consists of large swamps and a shallow, lush Puurijärvi Lake, that is a popular destination for bird watchers from all around the world.

Seitseminen National Park is also easily accessible from the cabin. The park has many clearly marked nature trails that are ideal for day trips and you might even see one of the resident pine marten, flying squirrels, cranes, swans or willow grouses during your visit.

The nearest ski resort Ellivuori is located just 8km away. The resort has 6 ski slopes, 4 ski lifts, a ski cafe, ski school and a ski equipment rental shop. The resort is ideal particularly for beginners and families.

Fly low-cost on Ryanair from London Stansted, Dublin or Frankfurt to Tampere (40km from cabin). Pick up a hire car at the airport or take a taxi to the cabin. 

Fly on Finnair or BA from London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh or Dublin to Helsinki (180km). Pick up a hire car at the airport.

Fly low-cost on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Dublin, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome, Hamburg, Barcelona, Madrid, Athens, Oslo, Nice or Paris to Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport.
