Daisy Cottage The cabin has a beautiful, secluded lakeside location just 10m from the private lake shore. A lakeside sauna is also available for your private use. The pretty lake facing terrace is an ideal place to relax and enjoy al fresco meals in summer. The peaceful location of the cabin is ideal for resting, enjoying leisurely walks in the woods, swimming and rowing a boat in summer. The lake offers plenty of fish, while the woodland grows wild berries and mushrooms. Fishing rods, ice-fishing equipment, snowshoes, cross-country skis, bicycles and toboggans are available free of charge from the owners. A snowmobile can be hired for an extra charge. Cabin
amenities: The cabin includes a traditional lakeside sauna, that is ideal for enjoying the famous Finnish pastime of staying in the heat of the sauna and swimming in the cooling lake in turns for a truly relaxing feeling. Pets and smoking are not allowed. Bed linen and towels can be rented for £10 per person. Final cleaning in the cabin can be arranged on your behalf for £39. Location: There is a swimming pool, an indoor ice rink for ice skating, a bowling hall, tennis courts and a beautiful sandy beach about 16km away. Children of all ages will love "Veijari" (Little Rascal) Activity Park in Saarijärvi. The park has bouncy castles, games, swings, water floats, cute animals to cuddle and lots more. The park is open daily in summer from 4.6-14.8. Another attraction ideal for the whole family is Ähtäri Zoo, 100km away, where you have a chance to see over 300 animals native to the Nordic region. Expect to catch a glimpse of a lynx, wolverine, moose, wolf and the brown bear couple Santeri and Santra. The Zoo is open daily year round. The Pyhä-Häkki National Park about 30km away has ancient trees and untouched forests, as well as many rare birds, insects and plants. Enjoy a leisurely hike along the clearly marked nature trails for fresh air and beautiful scenery. Julmat Lammit Conservation Park is also worth a visit for its fantastically rugged terrain, dark forests and deep ridges, that are pierced by beautiful clear lakes. Both parks are located near Saarijärvi town, that also has a few good canoeing trails, if you wish to take to the water. Jyväskylä 95km away offers an ideal day trip destination with its department stores, restaurants, cafes and a pretty harbour, from where you can take a cruise on Lake Päijänne, the longest and the deepest lake in Finland. If you are interested in architecture, look out for the work designed by Alvar Aalto, the famous Finnish architect and a former resident in the town. The nearest ski resort is Paavonrinteet 30km away. This small resort has toboggan hills for children, 5 ski slopes for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing tracks and a half pipe for snowboarders. All ski equipment can be rented from the resort's own rental shop, while a cafe serves hot drinks and snacks. The resort is suitable for beginners and families. How
