     Wes018-021 - Butterfly Cabins
These cosy cabins are located in a pretty holiday cabin village in a woodland area by Kivijarvi Lake. All one bedroom cabins have good amenities and are ideal for couples. Each cabin has a kitchen and dining area, lounge, sauna, shower, wood burning fireplace, one double bedroom and two beds in the mezzanine, although decor varies. A decked terrace outside offers beautiful lake views. 

Football, basketball, volleyball, rowing boats and pedalos are available free of charge, while bicycles, canoes, fishing equipment, mini barbeques, Nordic walking sticks and outdoor games including badminton, croquet and petanque can be hired from the village reception. In winter, snowshoes, ice skates, kick sledges, toboggans and cross-country skis can also be hired. 

Local activity organisers offer snowmobile safaris, cross-country skiing trips, snowshoe trekking, fishing and ice-fishing programmes, white water rafting, trekking and canoeing excursions. Guided expeditions  to the nearby Salamajärvi National Park are also available.

Cabin amenities:
Electric sauna, shower, WC, fireplace and logs, microwave, electric oven and hobs, TV, video recorder, radio, CD player, electric heating, coffee maker, terrace with lake views, hoover, toaster, cot, fridge/freezer and a car heating point. A shared barbecue and children's play area are also available.   

The cabin Wes019 is suitable for people with allergies and pets are not allowed there, but a maximum of two pets are allowed for a small charge of £4 per cat or a small dog and £7 per one larger dog in all the other cabins.  

A maximum of two pets are allowed for an extra charge. Bed linen and towels are included in the rental price. Final cleaning can be ordered to be done on your behalf for £32. Smoking is not allowed in these cabins. 

Location:
The cabins are located in Kivijärvi, 100km from Jyväskylä Airport and 60km from the small town of Saarijärvi. A car pick up/drop off service from/to the airport can be pre- booked for €115 one-way (max. 4-5 passengers). A food shop and a petrol station are conveniently located just 600m from the cabins, while the shallow lake shore, that is ideal for swimming for all ages, is just 50m away.  

If you are interested in nature and wildlife, do not miss the Salamajärvi National Park 28km away. The park is one of the largest conservation areas in the southern half of the country and it consists of mainly  untouched woods, pristine forest lakes, bogs and spring rivers. Enjoy a leisurely walk in the park and try to catch a glimpse of one of the wild forest reindeers, that inhabit the park.  

Children of all ages will love a day trip to Veijari Activity Park in nearby Saarijärvi. The park has bouncy castles, games, swings, water floats, cute animals to cuddle and lots more. The park is open daily in summer from early June to mid August.

In winter, visit also the nearby Paavonrinteet Ski Resort 60km away. This small resort has toboggan hills for children, 5 ski slopes for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing tracks and a halfpipe for snowboarders. All ski equipment can be rented from the resort's own rental shop, while a cafe serves hot drinks and snacks. The resort is suitable for beginners and families.

Fly on Finnair from London Heathrow, Manchester,  Edinburgh or Dublin to Jyväskylä (100km from cabins) via Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport.

Fly low-cost on Ryanair from London Stansted, Dublin or Frankfurt to Tampere (234km). Pick up a hire car at the airport.

Fly low-cost on Blue1 from London Heathrow, Rome, Dublin, Gothenburg, Athens, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin,  Hamburg, Barcelona, Madrid, Oslo, Nice or Paris to Vaasa (200km) via Helsinki. Pick up a hire car at the airport.
