We strongly recommend that you pre-book all your safaris as demand can be very high particularly in December and during the peak ski season from February to March. Pre-booking will also allow you to plan your holiday better, as you will not have to waste precious holiday time locally at the resort trying to arrange safaris for your party at the last minute. We are partnered with experienced local safari companies and can easily pre-book all your preferred safaris prior to your departure to Finland, so you can concentrate on enjoying your holiday in Finland. Most pre-booked safaris in Ylläs include complimentary car transfers between the safari departure point and your accommodation. Child prices entitle a child on snowmobile safaris to sit in a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile which will be driven by the safari guide.

Exciting trip for the whole family through snowy woods along a path lit by candles and lanterns to Santa's very own cabin where you will have an opportunity to make Christmas decorations to take home and write your name and your wish list for presents on Santa's secret Christmas Book. One of Santa's elves will then take each family to meet the man himself and each child will also receive a small present. Tobogganing is also possible. Gingerbread biscuits and hot berry juice will be available for all guests during the visit. Transfers are either by snowmobile (driving distance approx. 30km return) or car. Perfect Christmas experience for the whole family. A short car transfer takes you to the very special place deep in the snow covered forest. You will at first meet traditional reindeer herders dressed in their beautiful Lapp costumes and will then enjoy a 30 minute reindeer sleigh ride through the snowy landscape. The reindeer sleigh ride will lead you to a red log cabin where soup, gingerbread biscuits and special Christmas drinks will be available. A Christmas elf will lead every family to meet Santa Claus privately in a cabin nearby. This is your ideal opportunity to try traditional cross-country skiing. Instead of regular cross-country skiing on maintained ski tracks you will head to the deep snow in forest. Begin this thrilling adventure by driving out across the snowy Finnish landscape as far as the reindeer fence. You will then meet the reindeer herder who will take you for an unforgettable 4km reindeer ride through the forest. After the ride you will stop to rest in a warm Lappish tepee and have a hot drink. A bus transfer will take you to the local husky
camp where the eager Siberian Huskies are waiting for you. First you will learn
how to steer the husky sledge and then you will head for an exciting 10km husky
ride to the beautiful Snow Village! Two people share one sledge and take turns
in driving. At the Snow Village you will see the magnificent ice sculptures,
snow hotel and ice bar. Soup lunch is served at the log restaurant before
returning with the husky dogs. Guide tells facts about the Northern lights and if you are lucky enough, you might see those magnificent lights of the arctic sky. This husky safari is all about driving the huskies! You will be transferred by bus to the Siberian husky camp where you will first learn how to steer the husky sledge and then head for the national park with the dogs. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery and enjoy the speed of the dogs. At the half way stop you will have a break for a snack by an open fire and have an opportunity to listen to the husky guide telling stories about the life of the dogs.
